The Berkshire Art Association presents Showing Up: for Our Neighborhoods, Our Communities and Each Other - a juried exhibition of contemporary art exploring themes of community and civic engagement. Interpretations of the theme, as well as the definitions of 'community' and 'neighborhood' are open to the Artist. Artists working in all media will be considered for acceptance.

The call is open to artists living and working in the Northeast (New England and New York). An artist’s statement, outlining how the artist’s experience and work pertain to the theme is required with submission. All visual media will be considered for submission. A non-refundable registration fee ($25) covers three pieces*, submitted as jpegs. Up to three images of each piece may be submitted. Submissions are open April 1 - June 30, 2018.

We are honored to have three respected jurors: Mary Rentz, MFA, an artist and community activist whose work in the Berkshire community embodies our theme, Caitlin Tucker-Melvin, Visual Arts Exhibitions Manager at MassMoCA, an accomplished visual artist, and Shirley Edgerton, M. Ed., Director of Youth Alive, Inc., and founder and director of Rites of Passage Empowerment Program.

To submit work, please click the green +Register in the upper right hand corner of the page. The page will prompt you to create an account and pay the fee. You can then submit three pieces and add the corresponding image(s) to each piece (2-step process for each submission).

For questions, please email Juries@berkshireartassociation.org.
